Rhieni Dros Addysg Gymraeg                                                           Calling all parents with children attending Welsh-medium schools in Bridgend!

Bridgend County Council are considering to stop providing free transport for pupils receiving post 16 education along with other significant changes to the Authority’s transport policy. We want to assess the impact this will have on Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Llangynwyd as well as Welsh-medium education in general within the county.

Parents are asked to complete the following questionnaires. One is for the secondary sector and one for the primary.

Please encourage any family, friends or neighbors who have children attending Welsh-medium schools in Bridgend to participate. All responses will count!

Thank you for your cooperation.

Shwmae Su’mae? Day!

October 15, 2014 will be the second time that we celebrate Shwmae Su’mae? Day starting every conversation in Welsh.

Shwmae Su’mae? Day is a golden opportunity to celebrate the Welsh language through the ways we greet each other in Welsh in our communities. It is also an opportunity to support and encourage the efforts of all who are currently learning Welsh.

The Welsh language belongs to everyone and we can all use the language everywhere! In the shop, youth club, work, in our community, with friends.

So celebrate the day. Try it! Have a go! Come and say Shwmae! to some of the area’s Welsh organizations at Bridgend and Porthcawl. We will be greeting you along with Mr Urdd at the locations listed:

Halo, Bridgend: 09:30 – 11:00
Bridgend Library: 10:00 – 11:00
Bridgend Town Centre: 11:30 – 13:00
John Street, Porthcawl: 14:00 – 16:00

There will also be a chance to win a prize at Siop yr Hen Bont on the day! Menter Bro Ogwr will reward the fiftieth person to come into the Shop and start the conversation by saying Shwmae!
